My Journey My Story My Why MOHAMMED OMID JUDI DOUGLAS As the Official Canadian CPA Photography/Media Company, we cover shows all across Canada. We have the opportunity to meet many competitors at each show, all with their own stories about what brought them to the stage. Last year we had the privilege of meeting a very energetic, positive and motivated young man who had moved to Canada to start a new life with his family and found a love and sense of family within the fitness community. We originally met Mohammed at the very beginning of the 2018 season in Stratford, Ontario and again at the President’s Cup in Toronto. His chosen division is Men’s Physique. He was excited and determined. He brought along his supportive family and friends. He enjoyed the show so much standing out to us with his friendliness, positivity and supportive nature. We asked him to send us his story of how he became interested in competing and how he ended up on the CPA stage. Here is his story in his own words: “My name is Mohammed Omid. I’m from Afghanistan. I came to Canada in 2016. I chose to move to Canada for a brighter future and better opportunities in bodybuilding. We have been married for 9 years. We have 2 beautiful children, Sanam who is 8 and Sajad who is 20 months old. We live in Richmond Hill, Ontario. I met my wife in The Netherlands while she was visiting family. My wife was from Canada. We had mutual family friends and were together at a few gatherings. We started talking and realized we had a lot in common. After a few meetings my family came to her family asking for her hand in marriage and they said yes. We were engaged and got married in the Netherlands. Her family returned to Canada and
