Sometimes it isn’t you that is the problem. It could be
a family member, a friend, partner, you name it. This
is so hard to come to terms with, especially if you
care for that person(s). If they are not supporting
your journey to a better version of you they may pose
a threat to your success by putting foods, situations
or words in front of you that can be debilitating to
your success.
You need to remember that most of the time, this
actually is not intentional, it is a human desire to feel
included and safe. When your partner feels like you
are giving the gym or meal prep more attention than
you do to them, they obviously will react in a negative
way. They may use guilt or even negative words
because they want to keep you close.
I suggest when you feel this tension with family
and/or friends you have an honest and open
conversation around the importance of your health,
fitness and life goals. Ask for their support, find
unique ways to bond and connect with them that does
not distract or hinder your goals. An example of this
is working out together, or you could make time for
fun outing that does not involve your fitness journey
if that is a major sore spot for them.
It is important to remind yourself that not everyone is
on OR should be on your journey. That is unique to
you!
And remember, your MINDSET MATTERS
