CANADIAN PHYSIQUE ALLIANCE FALL ISSUE SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER | Page 75

Source POOR PRESENTATION One mistake I see repeatedly is poor posing and stage presentation. When I come to watch a bodybuilding show, I expect to see practiced compulsory poses and deliberate transitions, and a very entertaining and well-choreographed routine. With all of the posing coaches, instructional videos online, and selfie cameras that everyone has access to, it continues to baffle me how unprepared many athletes are.  Displaying your hard-earned physique is the foundation of our sport and it is how the judges assess you. Don’t waste all of years of hard work in the gym and months of contest dieting only to fall short in showing the judges, friends, and family your physique the best way possible. Do yourself a favour and watch posing routines of legendary performers like Kai Greene, Melvin Anthony, and Flex Wheeler. That level of performance should be your goals. To take it one step further, for the IFBB Pros reading this – we all know that at most IFBB Pro shows, any of the top 3 could win that show, but many times what helps the judges decide who is going to the Olympia is based on which athlete will bring the best show to the Olympia stage. You are professionals so you should perform like one.
