What next?
“It’s a very different world for an
individual to enter into while still
trying to find comfort in
themselves… I laugh at myself
because it took me so long to feel
confident to get on stage in a
bikini and here I did it with a
para-paunch hanging out.”
In June 2019, Bolt headed to Edmonton, Alta to
compete in the TNT Muscle Showdown hosted by
Ewasiuk and partner, CPA AB Director, Tara
Laviolette. Laviolette explains why it was important
to include a division for wheelchair competitors.
“We offered the division to create an all-inclusive
environment, to truly align with the IFBB and CPA
vision; to lay the groundwork to start creating the
awareness of the opportunity for wheelchair
adaptive athletes. There is a lot of groundwork to be
laid in creating awareness to get this division truly
off the ground in Canada.”
“TNT Muscle Productions Inc. is committed to
creating a safe, all-inclusive environment for all
competitors. It was a no brainer, it was the right
thing to do.”
Bolt says working with the TNT team far exceeded
her expectations and allowed her to have the
confidence to get back on stage five years post
injury. Bolt had previously competed at a
bodybuilding competition just prior to her accident,
this was to be her bodybuilding comeback.
