DO YOU
THROW IN
THE TOWEL?
ABSOLUTELY
NOT!
IT’S ABOUT HAVING A GOOD BAD
DAY. IT'S ABOUT COMPENSATING
AND ADJUSTING. THESE SKILLS
HAVE TO BE PRACTISED AND
WORKED ON.
D
r. Ravizza advises that “you don't
have control over what goes on
around you; you only have control over
how you choose to respond to it. Control
the controllables.” Like many athletes,
bodybuilders tend to focus on the end
result. This is not something we have
control over. We can influence it with a
strong work ethic both inside and outside
of the gym - but it takes more than that.
When you're competing against the best,
it's not about dominating. You cannot be
#1 every time. Sometimes bodybuilders
want that perfect performance, to
dominate, to be in the zone. They become
consumed with peaking. What happens if
your peak week, the day before, and/or
the day of the show your body isn’t going
the way you expected?
