C OMPETING IN
THE ZONE:
IS IT
OVERRATED?

W
hat is competing in the zone? It’s
when you feel totally focused, feel
confident, and concentrated.
But how often does this happen? How
many times can the same person win the
Arnolds? The Olympia? At some point,
another person wins.
Competing in the zone is overrated. What
percentage of the time are you actually in
the zone? To expect peak performance
every show is not realistic as the body
doesn’t always respond the same way for
each show. Life has a way of throwing us
curve balls. The only thing you have is
asking yourself, "Did I give myself the
best opportunity for success?"
