Orange Super Crush 100 Head & Combo
Orange Amplification has extended its Crush amps series with the launch of the Super Crush 100 head and combo , taking the Crush Pro and moving it a step further toward a more valve-like tone . The completely new design delivers the immediacy , definition , and character expected from any of Orange ’ s top-of-the-range valve amps .
The Super Crush 100 effectively mimics the big , rich , and responsive tone of Orange ’ s flagship Rockerverb amps . It uses the same 100W Class A / B power amp as the Pedal Baby and combines it with the twochannel JFET preamp design . An onboard digital 24-bit reverb module provides a lush spring reverb ambience and the fully-buffered , ultra-transparent , series FX Loop takes care of all effects needs .
Two independent , all-analog preamp channels give instant access to a spectrum of warm , valve-like tones . From high-headroom clean to high-gain metal , it ’ s designed to be easy to dial in tones with ease , thanks to a versatile circuit and simple control layout .
Godin A4 & A5 Ultra Natural Semi-Acoustic Basses
Godin Guitars has launched the A4 Ultra Natural and A5 Ultra Natural fretless basses .
The semi-acoustic A4 and A5 basses are both outfitted with a two-chambered Canadian Laurentian basswood body , solid spruce top , hard rock maple neck , and Richlite fingerboard . The A4 and A5 are also equipped with top-mounted thumb rests to ensure a comfortable playing position .
What sets both the A4 and A5 apart is the two-voice pickup system and on-board controls . This allows the player to choose between the lowprofile Lace Sensor magnetic pickup for a modern and dynamic sound , or the individual LR Baggs saddle transducers in the bridge that offer an authentic acoustic double bass sound . The magnetics are controlled by volume and tone knobs mounted on the side of the body , with the LR Baggs saddle transducers being controlled by a custom-designed top-mounted preamp . These ergonomic sliders allow the player to adjust volume , treble , mid , and bass EQ , as well as saturation control to give the tone more warmth .
