POP Montreal 2019 Accepting Artist Submissions
POP Montreal 2019, taking place Sept. 25-29, is now accepting artist submis-
sions. The deadline to apply is May 12, 2019, and the submission fee is $30.
New for 2019 is the POP Export program, which will give three Montreal-ar-
ea artists who play POP Montreal a chance to play select POPoff showcases
in Canada and abroad
for the duration of the
following year.
First launched in
2002, the five-day POP
Montreal festival presents
more than 400 artists to
audiences of over 60,000
across multiple venues in
downtown Montreal. The
festival includes concerts,
symposium discussions,
artisan and visual art
exhibitions, fashion shows, film screenings, and all-night parties. The festival is
designed to cater to musicians and artists, fans, curators, critics, record labels,
and industry.

The Great Escape 2019 Currently
Accepting Artist Submissions
The Great Escape festival is currently accepting artist
showcase submissions for 2019. Held in Brighton, U.K.,
The Great Escape will be held from May 9-11, 2019.
The Great Escape is one of the premier new music
showcase festivals, which each year features around
500 emerging artists from all over the world in 30-
plus walkable venues across the city. It’s attended by
delegates from all parts of the music industry. There is
also a convention alongside the gigs featuring panels,
debates, keynote speeches, and networking opportuni-
ties in abundance.
The submissions deadline is Feb. 11, 2019 and there
is no submission fee.

Canadian Musician surveyed musicians across the country to find out how 2018
was for their music careers, and what they expect for 2019. Of our respondents,
35% are amateur musicians, 45% are semi-professional musicians, and 21% are
professional musicians.
