Fender Study Shows Equal

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation
(FMIC) has released the results of survey it
conducted in conjunction with Egg Strategy
detailing the current state of guitar playing in
the U.S. and U.K.
While the “Illuminating the State of Today’s
Guitar Players” research revealed a number
of guitar playing’s educational benefits, one
of the key insights is that women contin-
ue to define the emerging guitar market,
accounting for 50 per cent of all beginner
and aspirational players. As well, the growing
diversity of players expands beyond gender.
Both African-American and Hispanic consum-
ers now represent a significant and growing
share of new players, with African-Americans
accounting for 19 per cent of aspirational
players and Latin players making up 25 per
cent of beginners.
PASIC Brings
Percussion World to
Indianapolis
The 2018 edition of the Percussive
Arts Society International Con-
vention (PASIC), one of the largest
drum and percussion events in the
world, wrapped up in Indianapolis,
IN on Nov. 17 th after four days of
exhibitions, performances, clinics,
master classes, workshops, awards,
and more.
PASIC 2018 featured over 120
concerts, clinics, master classes, labs, workshops, panels, and presentations given by some of the
world’s leading percussionists. All areas of percussion and music were showcased, from drum set
and marching to keyboard, symphonic, world, recreational, education, music technology, new
music, and health and wellness.
The convention’s International Drum and Percussion Expo featured more than 120 exhibitors
