and enriches the simplicity of the modern style.
Deck says “it fits the couple’s elegant yet simple
style.”
The open modern kitchen is the perfect space
for entertaining. Book-matched, flat, cut walnut
wood cabinets wrap around the space, bringing
in an interesting pattern and texture. White
quartz counter tops embellish the sophisticated
kitchen cabinets, while keeping the focus on the
texture of the cabinetry.
The straight and clean lines used in the kitchen
blend well with the contemporary style found on
the rest of the main floor. Using the same rich
walnut wood seen in the kitchen, Deck designed
a floor to ceiling built-in display case.
This addition is definitely a statement piece in
the living room. It was designed to present the
homeowners’ travel pieces. “Having traveled all
over the world,” says Deck, “ they had lots of
amazing objects that they wanted to display.”
The feature wall offered them the space to
showcase their best pieces without looking like
clutter.
But that’s not all. In addition to the luxurious
newly renovated main floor, Deck also
redesigned the two bedrooms, the den, and the
office space. This extensive renovation project
took ten months to complete, including the
planning and designing stages.
Believing in the use of beautiful natural
material and choosing elements that are centre
stage, Deck’s designs often focus on texture
more so than colours. She says, “it’s all about
choosing items that bring charisma into the
room.”
