own business. I’ve learned the hard way that life is very short, delicate and each new day is not guaranteed. Make whatever changes in your life are needed to pursue what makes you happy. That is the point of life. If you can’t do it all at once, that’s okay…just start somewhere. As the Cheshire Cat once said: Every adventure requires a first step.”

During your time as an investor in the shares of cannabis companies, have you made a list of where to get and where to not get information from?

I spend a lot of time on Twitter for real-time updates as I invest in stocks that are sensitive to politics and world news. For credible and informative Canadian information I recommend www.cannainvestormag.ca and www.newcannabisventures.com, and www.cannainvestormag.com for U.S. investments. I also like to search for stocks of interest on www.canadianinsider.com If insiders are selling I second guess whether to buy, however if they are loading up on the public exchange it gives me confidence. I would caution against forming too many opinions based on chat boards…much of it is heavily biased or untrue with a motive to sell higher or buy lower. If I want embellished information that also entertains me I turn to www.verp.ca for amusing satire.

Hard to argue there! As an investor, were you worried when you started investing in this industry and how has that changed .... if at all?

I was somewhat nervous when I began investing but it really was a bit of a Hail Mary for me. I was feeling reckless, mad at the world that my sister passed away…I had never purchased a stock in my life, let alone put all of my small nest egg into penny stocks. Yeah, it was definitely reckless, even though it worked out. I would never recommend anyone do that – only gamble with what you are willing to lose because that is possible. As far as the current landscape, hype is no longer offering free passes to the next level. Legalization has never been more certain but it is important to invest in solid companies – not a mining company that announces it’s going to start growing pot.
