Before the treatment starts, the medical estheticians will press a handheld
laser instrument to your skin. Often depending on the type of the laser, a
cooling device on the top of the apparatus or a cooling gel would be used
to protect the skin.
You will be given special goggles to wear to protect your eyes from the
laser beam. When the laser is activated, it will pass through your skin to
the tiny follicles where the hair growth originates.
The time taken for the treatment may depend on the area itself. If it is a
small area like the upper lip, then it might take a few minutes, otherwise, if
it is your back then it might take an hour.
The results of the treatment vary from person to person, and the area
treated. You would be advised by the medical estheticians to take certain
precautions for the treatment to heal.
Although hair removal efficiently slows growth, it does not guarantee
permanent hair removal. It would typically take multiple treatments to
provide a longer hair-free period.
