DAY 1 Fly to Toronto
On arrival , collect your car and make your way to your hotel . After settling in , perhaps head out to begin your explorations of this great city .
DAYS 2-3 Toronto
This cosmopolitan city is home to a dynamic mix of tourist attractions , many of which are within walking distance of each other . The city ’ s most famous landmark is the CN Tower , which can be seen from almost everywhere in the city . Appreciate it from the ground , or take a trip up to one of the observation areas for fabulous views . Other top attractions include the Royal Ontario Museum , the Art Gallery of Ontario , St Lawrence Market and the restored Distillery District . If you fancy some time out of the city , Niagara Falls is within easy reach .
DAY 4 Toronto / Ottawa
Bid farewell to Toronto and head north east to the Canadian capital , Ottawa . Your journey will take you along the shores of Lake Ontario and you may wish to stop off in Kingston , which is the gateway to the beautiful Thousand Islands ( 280 miles ).
DAY 5 Ottawa
Ottawa ’ s broad avenues and historic buildings make it especially fun to explore on foot . Home to some of Canada ’ s most important cultural attractions including the grand government buildings atop Parliament Hill . Other places to add to your itinerary include lively Byward Market , the Peace Tower , Notre Dame Cathedral and Rideau Canal , a UNESCO World Heritage site .
DAY 6 Ottawa / Tremblant
Drive further north and across the provincial border into Québec , for Tremblant , which lies within the scenic Laurentian Mountains . This four-season destination is great for those that love the great outdoors with activities galore ( 103 miles ).
DAY 7 Tremblant / Québec City
Head deeper into Québec province and travel north east towards Québec City . You ’ ll find numerous stopping off points along the way to break up your journey , including Trois-Rivieres , which has its rich history proudly on display throughout the city ( 255 miles ).
DAY 8 Québec City
A full day to discover North America ’ s only walled city , which is also a UNESCO World Heritage site . The Lower Town is known for its picturesque , narrow streets and historic buildings . It ’ s where you ’ ll find Place Royale and the Quartier Petit Champlain . The Upper Town contains the defensive Citadel as well as some of the city ’ s most iconic landmarks , like the Chateau Frontenac and City Fortifications . See also the Notre-Dame-de-Québec , the Capital Observatory for bird ’ s eye views and Old Port .
DAY 9 Québec City / Montréal
Make the most of further time to explore before you hit the road once more and drive south towards Montréal ( 161 miles ).
DAY 10 Montréal
Step out and get to know this wonderful city . Vieux- Montréal is where the city began and its old buildings and cobblestone streets are very picturesque . You ’ ll find major museums and arts venues in the Centre-Ville as well as Rue Sherbrooke , which is probably the city ’ s most elegant thoroughfare . Perhaps opt for a stroll around Bonsecours Market and enjoy the open-air gathering space of place Jacques-Cartier , explore the lively area by the Saint Lawrence River and take in the view from Mont-Royal .
DAY 11 Montréal
All too soon , this wonderful tour draws to a close as you drop off you car at the airport for your onward journey .
