Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska

Alaska, Yukon & Manitoba

Great for independent travellers | Pristine wilderness | Cruise & tour options Gold Rush history | Truly wild wildlife | Northern Lights | Bucket-list adventures
Romantically known as the Last Frontier, the US state of Alaska is a wild and spectacular wilderness with vast landscapes of unfathomable natural beauty that seemingly stretch to infinity.
Alaskan adventures tend to start in Anchorage, which is handy for Denali National Park, Alaska’ s most popular attraction and home to North America’ s tallest peak, as well as glacial rivers and tundra. Other places to visit include Fairbanks, a top base for exploring northern Alaska and its Gold Rush heritage; scenic Seward, sparkling Resurrection Bay; and tiny Talkeetna, an artistic outdoorsy kind of place.
The Yukon Territory, which is set between Alaska and Canada( and administered and governed by Canada), is one of the largest
and most sparsely populated areas of North America. It’ s a stunningly unique place with more epic scenes
ALASKA than a Hollywood blockbuster.
Territory capital Whitehorse is the travel hub for exploring other Yukon areas, including the picturesque Southern Lakes region. Other highlights include Haines Junction; Kluane National Park & Reserve, which is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site; the small border town of Beaver Creek; and historic Dawson City, which attracted gold seekers over 100 years ago.
In Manitoba, the remote town of Churchill is almost other worldly. Lying along the migration path of polar bears and beluga whales, it attracts wildlife enthusiasts from all over the globe. Thrilling dogsled rides are also possible here. A trip here will definitely suit those seeking oncein-a-lifetime outdoor experiences.
