Other highlights include Haines Junction; Kluane National Park & Reserve, which is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site; the small border town of Beaver Creek; and historic Dawson City, which attracted gold seekers over 100 years ago.
In Manitoba, the remote town of Churchill is almost other worldly. Lying along the migration path of polar bears and beluga whales, it attracts wildlife enthusiasts from all over the globe. Thrilling dogsled rides are also possible here. A trip here will definitely suit those seeking oncein-a-lifetime outdoor experiences.

Getting there: Flights from the UK operate via Seattle and Vancouver to Anchorage and take around 14½ hours, while Whitehorse is 15½ hours via Vancouver. Churchill, Manitoba is just under a 3 hour flight from Winnipeg.
