CAMPAIGNING RULES
ON-STAGE APPEARANCES
Prior to the end of the election( i. e. voting fellowship), candidates may NOT appear on stage during a general assembly except for election-related purposes. For example, candidates running for office should not serve as opening speakers at a general assembly or participate in roll call. There are three exceptions to this rule: If you win an award, you may go to the stage to receive it. If you are the only delegate from your state, you may participate in roll call. Current NJCL officers running for office may remain on stage as normal.
ATTIRE
When you are on stage, formal attire is required. Examples include ties, blazers, suit jackets, dresses, collared dress shirts, dress blouses, dress pants, dress skirts, dress shoes, and similar clothing with the word“ dress” in it. In other election events( e. g. Meet the Candidates), you should still dress for success! Leaning on the formal side can make you easier to identify as a candidate, and you just look a lot snazzier!
