What was your favorite part of campaigning ?
Getting to meet everyone ! Even if I wasn ' t talking about my platform or qualifications , just having fun with JCLers from all the different states was simply incredible .
What would you have done differently ?
Running for office is always nerve-wracking , so I wish I had taken a few more moments to collect myself and remember all the people who have believed in me .
What tips do you have for speaking to people and / or giving your speeches ?
Remember that JCLers are looking for reasons to support you , not tear you down . So go forward in confidence ! Simply state your ideas and qualifications , and know that whether things go the way you hope or not , you may have influenced a JCLer ' s perspective ( who knows , maybe they ' ll run for office one day because you inspired them !).
If nothing else , what tip should they take away ?
My main tip is that you should make use of your support system ! If you know that you ' re going to be busy with events besides campaigning ( e . g ., if you ' re a state officer or certamen player ), you need to have friends from your state who can campaign for you while you ' re otherwise occupied . Every moment and person reached counts !
