Campaign Analysis
What was your favorite part of preparing for your campaign ?
My favorite thing I prepared for my campaign was my snazzy “ Vote Jenny ” sunglasses . I ’ m not sure how many people noticed them , however , it was a lot of fun just wearing them around and I keep them now as a keepsake from convention this past year .
What was your favorite campaign event ?
I really enjoyed Candidates ’ Open Forum ! While it was a very “ formal ” event , I think I was able to showcase my personality and creativity very well .
What do you think was the strongest part of your campaign ?
I think one of the best things I did was campaigning with chalk ! It was able to showcase me artistically and worked really well in terms taking advantage of the physical landscape of Emory ’ s campus , especially as most of the buildings were clustered in the same areas .
What in your campaign would you have done differently ?
I didn ’ t realize how stressed I would be coming up with a solid campaign platform . I had this note on my phone for months where I brain-dumped , however , when it was time to prepare for my campaign , I realized that I needed to solidify the ideas were the strongest , not just keep coming up with multiple things .
What tips do you have for speeches ?
Take a deep breath . Given that there ’ s essentially a whole General Assembly dedicated to campaign speeches , people will want to listen about you and your campaign . There ’ s no need to be nervous , even though , yes , you are giving a speech in front of many people .
What ’ s one suggestion you have for candidates running for your office ?
I would suggest to showcase your work ! I used a Linktree to link all my work within JCL and even outside of JCL so that , when I was campaigning there , was a central location to learn more about me .
