9 NJCL Campaign Corner | Issue XV
While you are preparing for this summer's convention and your campaign at Indiana University Bloomington, please remember that NJCL is a guest of the university. Being able to campaign at Indiana is a privilege; therefore, candidates are subject to the royal decrees of Indiana University. They are as follows:
CAMPAIGN RULES & REGULATIONS
Chalk is permitted on the streets and sidewalks that have been approved by Indiana University. Do not use chalk on walls. That is graffiti. Signs on stakes in the grass are also not allowed.
At Indiana University, posters may ONLY be hung in the residence centers using blue (painters') tape on glass surfaces. Posting will not be allowed in academic buildings or classrooms.
Refrain from using lewd or distasteful propaganda. It is the right of the parliamentarian and the National Committee to discard such materials or to disqualify the candidate.
Campaigning may not begin until after the Nominations Committee Meeting. Any campaigning before this time will result in disqualification.
Remind other delegates who are helping you campaign of these rules. Be sure to remove all campaign materials after the election. Ask your friends who helped post your materials to assist in removing them.
Campaign expenditures are not to exceed $50. Gifts and discounts must be counted at full value. All receipts will be collected at the Nominations Committee Meeting.
You will be notified if there are any changes made to the campaign rules.
