THE ARTS Let’s Put On A Show! (4 th -8 th ) NEW! Photography (4 th -8 th ) NEW! Week 4: July 8-12 Instructor: Debra Clinton In just one week go from page to stage! This full day camp allows you to be a part of a “mini-musical” both onstage and backstage. Learn all the mechanics of what it takes to really put on a show! Skills such as acting, singing, choreography, lights and sound, costumes, make up, and creating scenic elements as well! Full Day: $410M/$460NM MIXED MEDIA ART WORKS! (K-2 ND ) (3 rd -6 th ) NEW! Week 2: June 24-28 Instructor: Elizabeth Brown Get ready to roll your sleeves up and to get creative! Campers will explore several differ- ent art media types and produce a variety of works ranging in material and subject. Campers will explore a variety of materials and techniques to make beautiful works of art while truly letting their imaginations run wild. Full Day: $375M/$425NM Week 7: July 29-August 2 Instructor: Jessie Crowe Explore the world of photography in a fun way! The week will include field trips to Richmond Camera, Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, and some murals/street art around RVA. We will discuss portraits, macro, com- position and editing. The week will end with an art show for family and friends to attend. Campers must provide their own cameras. All camera types and experiences welcome! Full Day: $345M/$395NM Half Day: $275M/$325NM Stars to Be (K-4 th ) Week 2: June 24-28 Instructor: Debra Clinton Welcome to the theater! Learn the basics, rules of the stage, intro to song and dance, how to use a prop, how to say a line. Be introduced to everything it takes to put on a show! Campers will put on a presentation on the last day of camp. There will be a performance at 11:30 a.m. on the last day of this camp. Full Day: $350M/$400NM Half Day: $280M/$330NM Richmond Ballet (K-4 th ) NEW! Swan Lake: Week 5: July 15-19 A Midsummer Night's Dream: Week 6: July 22-26 Instructor: The Richmond Ballet Come and join us for an exciting summer experience! This week-long day camp features classes in age appropriate ballet technique emphasizing creativity, coordina- tion, flexibility and strength. Students will also explore all the facets of the art of ballet, learning about the story, music and cos- tumes of Swan Lake (Week 5: July 15-19) or A Midsummer Night's Dream (Week 6: July 22-26). The week will end with an informal demonstration for family and friends. Full Day: $375M/$425NM Half Day: $305M/$355NM Kids’ Place Camp For kids in grades K-8 Week 10: August 19-23 Week 11: August 26-29 Kids’ Place Camp is two weeks of exciting activities for campers before they head back to school. K-2 will have fun with in-house spe- cial appearances and programs; 3rd–middle school will venture out on an occasional field trip, enjoy special activities and programs as they close out the summer and head back to school. In addition to the travel, kids swim daily, have cooking class, arts and crafts, music, gym and more. This is a high energy, fast-paced camp and a blast for all ages!
