CAMP AQUATICS
Camp Ganim Instructional Swim
At the beginning of the 4-week session , campers who are potty trained and 3-years-old will be evaluated and placed with their peers of the same swimming ability . For many Ganim swimmers it is their first time in the water . It is our goal to make that first experience a positive one ! The 30-minute instructional swim at Camp Ganim is led by Assistant Aquatics Director and Ganim Swim Coordinator Myles Phelps , who is an American Red Cross Water Safety & Lifeguard Instructor and Certified Pool Operator .
We follow the same American Red Cross Preschool Aquatics classes taught at the Weinstein JCC year round . The classes are organized as follows :
CLAMS ( Preschool Level 1 ): Beginner
MINNOWS ( Preschool Level 2 ): Children comfortable in the water
SEA TURTLES ( Preschool Level 3 ): Children becoming independent

Swimming is a lifelong skill that can open the door to many adventures . At the Weinstein JCC and Camp Hilbert pools , safety always comes first for campers and swimmers , along with a friendly and nurturing environment .
