CAMP AQUATICS
Camp Ganim Instructional Swim
At the beginning of the 4-week session, campers who are potty trained and 3-years-old will be evaluated and placed with their peers of the same swimming ability. For many Ganim swimmers it is their first time in the water. It is our goal to make that first experience a positive one! The 30-minute instructional swim at Camp Ganim is led by Assistant Aquatics Director and Ganim Swim Coordinator Myles Phelps, who is an American Red Cross Water Safety & Lifeguard Instructor and Certified Pool Operator.
We follow the same American Red Cross Preschool Aquatics classes taught at the Weinstein JCC year round. The classes are organized as follows:
CLAMS( Preschool Level 1): Beginner
MINNOWS( Preschool Level 2): Children comfortable in the water
SEA TURTLES( Preschool Level 3): Children becoming independent

Swimming is a lifelong skill that can open the door to many adventures. At the Weinstein JCC and Camp Hilbert pools, safety always comes first for campers and swimmers, along with a friendly and nurturing environment.
