Alex made many trips and deployments and when their
phone bill got larger then Jodi’s rent, they decided it was time
to get married.
Being a Commander’s wife is never easy. “My husband wasn’t
the only one serving our country. Wives, husbands and kids
are all sacrificing and serving,” Jodi went on to say that she
wouldn’t have traded those times for the world. “We were
all just one big team, and we all looked out for each other. I
knew that my husband’s group watched out for him and he
watched out for them.”
Jodi would go weeks at a time not knowing where Alex was or
what he was doing. “When you face that kind of uncertainty
every day, you need that support, you need to know
someone has your back, and you need to have faith.”
Jodi and her husband were relocated up and down the East
Coast, but one of the more unique places they lived was on a
Trawler “boat” in Washington, DC.
When Alex retired, his big dream was to move to Florida and
they settled near Tampa and eventually made their way to
Apollo Beach. Since retiring, Jodi and Alex have travelled
to India, Chile and Germany. They bought an RV and have
travelled and enjoyed other adventures in their life. When
the Financial Secretary job opened up, Jodi knew it would
be perfect for her. “I get to do what I love (accounting), in a
place that I love.”
Please give Jodi a great big Calvary “HELLO!”
