DAY 3 THROUGH ALICE’S EYES We started off the day by cheering for our State Advisor as she received Distinguished Alumni Award. Also recognized from California were Ms. Carly Russo from Diamond Bar High School for Chapter Advisor of the Year and Diamond Bar High School for Chapter Excellence. Yay! I love cheering for people! In the afternoon,I headed down to the Meet and Greet with Grant to talk to the National TSA Officer candidates. It was interesting and inspiring to hear how TSA changed the candidates’ lives. However, it was saddening to realize that many well qualified candidates were running for the same office. Ah, decisions, decisions. One of the highlights of this trip was our State Delegation meeting with Germany, New York, and Turkey TSA (yes, we have friends across the pond). While talking to the NY TSA’s State Advisor, we realized the many similarities between our two Delegations and decided to meet together later. What I thought was going to be a meeting with 40 people was soon expanded when Germany and Turkey TSA joined us. First reaction: good thing we decided against musical chairs... Second reaction: what?! We began the meeting with a battle to decide whose hometown was the best. Did you know Germans can drink at 16?! We shared how TSA functions in each state or country and discussed the difficulties we encountered. We learned from each others’ success and failure stories and also exchanged tips on competitions. The meeting ended after an intense round of a Korean game, in which California and New York members emerged as winners. Who is a proud prez? I am!
