DAY 4 THROUGH NICOLE’S EYES Voting day! All the State Officers and Voting Delegates woke up early in the morning (well, we had to wake up pretty early every day, but earlier than usual today) to vote for 2013 - 2014 National TSA Officers! Remind me again the Conference we are attending? Ah, that’s right, National TECHNOLOGY Student Association Conference! Why did I emphasize that? We voted by texting! How cool is that?! The voting session was paused due to the Business Meeting, and let me tell you, it was very confusing. The Business Meeting followed the strict procedures outlined in the Robert’s Rules of Order. I have never attended a formal Business Meeting before and was baffled by the convoluted language and motions. The biggest debate at the session was the Bylaw amendment proposed by Andrew O’Connor from Texas TSA. The amendment would have altered the election procedure for National TSA Officers. After several round of voting and debate, the case was postponed indefinitely. Also, CA TSA got a shout-out during the Business Meeting for being the newest member to join the family. Thank you National TSA! We went right back to voting for National TSA Officers after the Business Meeting. The entire session lasted for about four hours. Really stunk for people desperately in need of using the restroom.
