Step 1:
Spread some royal icing on the centre of your cake board. Lift your cake off the setup board and place in the
centre of your covered cake board

Spray with airbrush filled
with vodka to remove
cornflower and to assist
edible lace to adhere to
cake
Apply edible lace to the
bottom of your cake
Measure where you want
your edible lace to sit at
the top of your cake and
mark all the way around.
Apply your edible lace
to the top of your cake.
If the lace doesn’t stick,
brush a little water on your
cake and gently press the
lace onto the cake
Work some shortening
into your contrast
coloured fondant. Roll
into a sausage and insert
it into your extruder with
a fitting to make a thin
round strip of fondant
