Step 10 & 11:
Draw two lines at different angles on the top tier, meeting at the same point as the point on the bottom tier. Continue with the“ waves” on the top tier with the shell tool, on the same side as the bottom tier.
Step 12, 13 & 14:
Using the smallest circle cutter to press on the cake, and another larger cutter and press against the cake. Vary the sizes of the larger cutter so that not all circles are the same size. Draw a few oval shapes using a dresden tool, this can be done at your personal preference. Draw a line that defines the boundary of where the circles end.
Step 15:
To apply the gold leaf against the“ waves”, use a water brush and brush water against the waves. Work the brush against the grooves until the surface feels tacky. Apply gold leaf against the waves, you can use the line as a guide. Gold leaf will stick to areas that have been made tacky, so whatever that is still on the sheet can be used to fill the other areas.
