Step 1:
Layer and ganache your
square cakes to create
a tall tower, and cover it
with fondant. Make sure
you remove all the air
bubbles using a fondant
smoother (don’t worry
if the fondant is not
perfect, we will cover
the whole cake).
Step 2:
Create a ball using a
piece of aluminium foil.
Press it gently on the
fondant to create some
texture.
Step 3:
Let’s make the
decorations. Use some
colourful fondant,
fondant modelling tools,
rolling pin and some
round cookie cutters (in
my case I use 3, 4, 5 cm
cutters).
Step 4:
To create the yellow and
red mushrooms, make
a small fondant ball
(1-1.5 cm), squeeze half
of it vertically. Flatten the
other half horizontally.
Using a fondant tool
give a bit of texture on
the lower half.
Step 5:
Using a paint brush,
brush some water on the
back of the mushroom
so you can ‘glue’ it on
the cake.
