Families of Nova of Virginia Aquatics donated toys and gifts to needy families in Goochland County. They wrapped and delivered gifts to eight families from the area. These less fortunate people are some of many around the U.S.A who cannot fund their family to have a wonderful holiday as so many of us can.
The Christmas Mother Organization had a record year this year. 325 families were helped to have a magical, meaningful Christmas this year thanks to the generosity of the general public. Since 1957, this organization has been helping families in Goochland to have the Christmas that they have always wanted.
These people helped were only a fraction of the "less-fortunate" of the Richmond area. 21.4% of the Richmond area is below the poverty line so 9600 people this year are in need of simple necessities. Other counties in the area have set up donations and even Moody Middle School has a canned food drive for the holiday season to brighten up people's year.
