Friday 12:15 - 1:15
Session 306 Adults at the Center: Understanding the Adult Journey of Faith
Our world and our faith demand an adult Christianity. Growth beyond a faith that may have served us well in youth is necessary to
meet the demands of adult lives and our contemporary world, if we are to truly be disciples of Christ. Putting adults at the center
of formation requires first that we understand what an “adult growing in faith” looks like, and how we might support that growth in
ourselves as well.
Friday 2:45 - 3:45
Session 407 Adults at the Center: Nurturing Adults to Grow in Faith
What do we need to do--and who do we need to be--as pastoral leaders, ministers, and catechists to nurture adults into an
ever-deepening relationship with Jesus Christ? Do we challenge and support adults to become disciples, or do we accept a
stagnant faith? And how do we move this work to the center of parish life? We’ll review the challenges and explore the possibilities
of putting adults at the center of formation.
Friday 4:15 - 5:15
Session 506 Adults at the Center: Creating Communities that Engage Adults
Adult formation goes beyond programs; in fact, the entire parish is an adult formation program. How do we create communities
that engage and evangelize adults and young adults? Are our communities places that invite and encourage growth? We’ll
examine current trends in society and the church and discuss ways to create not just welcoming communities, but truly
transformational ones!
