Separate GTINs on Selling Units as Indicated.
• Standard shipping cases are full Supplier pack cases containing more than one single selling unit as well as master pack cases, display shippers, and display ready pallets. All these types of shipped cases require a separate 14-digit GTIN.
• When delivering master pack cases, you will be required to have a separate 14-digit GTIN on both the inner pack and the master case.
• If you are currently sending product to KeHE in a loose format and is distributed by the case( excluding items shipped by KeHE in the each), Supplier will be required to change to the delivery pack to a cardboard case with the required GS1-14-digit GTIN in accordance with the standards.
Placement; Format.
• GS1-128 format barcode is required( See example)
• The( Al) must have parenthesized to identify the GTIN. The Al for GTIN is( 01) followed by the 14-digit GTIN. o The parenthetical numbers in the barcode denote the Application Identifier( AI). o AIs are two-digit numerical prefixes that correlate to specific data elements.
• The first Application Identifier must always be the GTIN, followed by any other information you use such as packing date, batch / lot, or random catch weight.
• The case GS1-128 barcode should meet GS1 Standard. The minimum allowable size for GTIN is 3” in length and 3 / 4” in height.
• GS1-128 bar codes must be placed on a minimum of two sides of the case with one being on the longest side of the case.
Restrictions.
• Multiple flavor descriptions or multiple unique GS1-128 barcodes are NOT ALLOWED to be printed on the case.
• Do not use these colors when creating your barcodes. Scanning devices are blind to red, blue, brown, and shades of purple. Black ink is recommended.
GS1-128 Label. If you use a removable label or tear off label it must be applied so it can withstand the conditions of the warehouse receiving, picking, and palletizing systems so it does not come off.
GTIN-14 BARCODE REQUIREMENTS:
To align with our mutual retail customers and GS1 Standards for Global Trade Item Number(“ GTIN”) allocation, all products sold to KeHE must have a unique 14 digit case GTIN( ITF-14) barcode to identify products at the warehouse receiving pack, sellable case pack, and item level(“ GTIN-14 Barcode”). It is Supplier’ s responsibility to create the GTIN-14 Barcode, and Supplier remains independently obligated to provide accurate and complete information for proper product labeling and identification. In addition to the Case Barcode Non-Compliance Fee, as defined herein, Supplier shall be responsible and liable to KeHE for any fees, fines, costs, charges, or expenses caused as a result of Supplier’ s inaccurate GTIN-14 Barcode information or non-compliance, and such amounts incurred by KeHE related to GTIN non-compliance shall be charged back to the Supplier, including those accrued prior to the effective date of this such date. Should you not comply with KeHE’ s GTIN Requirements, KeHE may, at its option and sole discretion, restrict or discontinue your products.
