The 4th of July is already being planned out, as it is a HUGE deal in this household 6! 4th of July and Labor Day are 2 of my very favorite days to celebrate… the tasty food, the cold drinks, the outdoor fun of it all, and of course – a chance to celebrate in the beloved Red, White & Blue!
Do you need some ideas on what to do? Then check out my older blog post here.
When it comes to cooking out for a Fourth of July party all you need to do is keep it simple and provide foods that are most served at a cookout. Don’t worry about grilling something that everybody is going to eat because most people will eat your classic grillin’ foods, even kids. For meats you should stick with something simple like hamburgers, hot dogs, and ribs. For side dishes you can have potato salad, macaroni salad or any other type of pasta salad that you enjoy on 4th of July warm summer days.
You should also include some type of green salad and corn on the cob (off the grill of course) to round out your major food groups.
When planning the food menu for your cookout do not forget to include some type of chocolate dessert and plenty of beverages for your guests to drink. I suggest lemonade. It is refreshing and cool in the hot! Check out my tips on how to be the hostess with the mostess!
