example to this fact. Throughout the narration, their
names are mentioned together always (Acts
18:18,26).
Any major decision like children's education,
career, transfers, children's marriage, procuring or
giving loans to others, needs to be taken with the
consensus of both the husband and wife. The
financial conditions of the family should be known
to both the partners. It's been 35 years since we are
married and we still maintain the same joint account
in the bank which we opened immediately after our
marriage. When children grow up, we need to
involve them during the decision making process.
This will not only give them a sense of
responsibility but also enable them to establish this
discipline in the family they will procreate. Let us
be watchful while taking decisions in the family.
The family that is watchful is a joyful family.
During the family prayer of a watchful family,
the song, “Heaven is a wonderful place” was sung.
The guest who joined the family prayer that day
asked the little girl from the family, “How will
heaven be?” To this, she replied unhesitatingly,
“Like our home”. This reply of hers made the guest
to ponder meaningfully.
To sum up, every family that is watchful is
indeed a foreshadow of heaven.
May the Lord help us to build such heavenly families right
here on earth. Amen!
