He gave the right interpretation of the Old Testament
Scriptures - “You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye,
and tooth for tooth.' But I tell you, do not resist an evil
person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them
the other cheek also. And if anyone wants to sue you and take
your shirt, hand over your coat as well.” (Mt 5:38-42).
Going further still, He taught them in verses 43-48, how to
have an attitude of love to one's enemies.
He taught them how to pray to the Heavenly Father. He
trained them on perceiving things with the Father's vision.
He took them along on trips to the villages. He gave them an
opportunity to perform miracles. He showed them their
errors and corrected them now and then. Yet, after His
resurrection, He did not rebuke them for deserting Him. Nor
did He lecture them on their failings. He was always a
motivating force, cheering them on.
Leaders, who is your successor? Who is the young person
to step into your shoes? Have you developed the next
generation who would carry out the Lord's command, “Go
out into the world” ? The Lord placed His trust on His
disciples, though they were imperfect. He prepared them for
the High Calling.
succeed, it should give us joy and not make us envious. Do
not stifle the young ones, the newcomers. Don't fear their
success and worry that they will overtake you. If the next in
line is more successful, isn't that something to rejoice
over? Am I not proud when my children grow taller than me,
or when they prove to be more efficient than me ? Every
father rejoices when their children reach great heights. It
should be same with the next line of leadership. Encourage
them, push them to succeed.
Let us not forget the progression in training:
I perform, you watch;
I perform, you help;
You perform, I'll help;
You perform, I'll watch.
Let us applaud and welcome young blood. Make them
comfortable in your chair. Let us not forget that Jesus'
successors His disciples - stirred up the whole world.

“Like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its
young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them
aloft. The Lord alone led him...”(Deu 32:11-12).
It is marvelous to see an eagle's nest. Sharp sticks are kept
in place by metal wires. They form the periphery while the
inside is lined with soft material. The inside is like a
comfortable, cotton mattress for the new born babies.
However, it does not last long. After sometime, the mother
eagle removes the soft padding, and the sharp sticks hurt the
little ones. So the little eaglet hops out of the nest, onto the
branch. Shaky and unsteady, it falls off the branch, but the
mother is ready with its outstretched wings, to protect her
precious baby. In due course, the wings become stronger and
the happy mother see her babies fly!
When we see our children, the ' Gen Next' grow and
