Better than Me?
A. Lionel, General Overseer, Blessing Youth
Mission
Greatness cannot be attributed to any leader who does
not groom a successor to carry forward his mission.
Halo in Uttar Pradesh
Halo was held for the first time in Uttar Pradesh. 40
young people attended. Missionary couples, Allen &
Monica, and Joel & Dolly encouraged the participants
through God's word and practical counsels. The 'Souled Out'
team from Jaipur, Rajasthan led the participants in lively
worship and engaged them through various games. 'Youth
Ka Adalat' (Courtroom of Youth) blessed the young as how
Jesus changes a person. Two new prayer cells have been
formed as a result of this camp. All Glory to Him!
An exemplary leader is one who prepares the right people
to continue his work. Unless he does this, he cannot
consider his mission to be fulfilled. There are some who feel
that their glorious work should cease after their time.
Samson, who said, “Let me die with the Philistines!”(Jdg
16:30) was not a victorious leader. Though many enemies
perished with him, there was no one to stand up and cement
the victory.
Our Master chose twelve disciples. He prayed a whole
night before this. Out of the twelve, he chose three. Not only
did He choose, He also trained them.
I accepted the Lord when I was in college through the
ministries of Evangelical Union. I can never forget the long
hours the National Director of EU spent with me, training
me,personally, one to one, in Trichy. Our Lord spent a large
part of His time on earth training his disciples in the group of
12, in the smaller group of 3 and above all, one to one. He
showed them how to live life at a level totally different from
the way of the life of the Pharisees - “Unless your
righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the
teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom
of heaven” (Mt 5:20). These words taught them a truly
glorious way to live.
