(Testimonies of
Native Workers
of Blessing Youth Mission)
Dutia Bagh hails from the tribe of Gond in the
State of Chattisgarh. Since Dutia's father married a
girl from another caste, they were ex-communicated
from their village. Owing to this, the family migrated
to a border district in Odisha. Dutia's parents had a
chance to hear the Gospel through foreign
missionaries. But later they shifted to another village
and so they did not get a chance to know more about
God.
As a migrant family, they were struggling to
make both ends meet. They experienced poverty first
hand. People used to give cooked rice which he used
to collect from door to door. Life was very hard for
them.
As Dutia grew up, he neither went to school nor
was concerned about the future. His life spiraled out
of control. He started to sell liquor illegally and
became a drunkard. He married Mangaldei and
started to live as a separate family.
One day while Dutia was in the field, someone
gave him a New Testament. He was attracted to the
words which were written in the book. Later, he
attended a Christmas function in a nearby village. It
was during those years, missionaries from Blessing
Youth Mission had started to work in these areas and
had started congregations. Dutia started to attend a
worship service and the Gospel came alive in his life.
He and his wife accepted the Lord and became ardent
seekers of Christ. After he found Christ, he started to
experience God's miraculous blessings in his life. He
found true happiness and joy. Their children who
were suffering from various illnesses were healed.
In the year 1997, Dutia started to minister for
God. He was very sincere in his duties as a native
evangelist. God gifted him with the healing gift and
people started to hear the message of the Gospel
through him. Many people were healed and found
Christ. He was a pioneer worker in many villages and
brought many to Christ. He sat at the feet of the senior
missionaries and started to study the Bible in a
systematic way.
He has been ministering for the past 22 years.
He still ministers with the same zeal and passion.
Even today he reaches out to 13 villages in a week.
God has blessed the couple with three children.
Their elder son Lobo has completed +2 staying in our
Mission Hostel. Their second child Rebecca has
completed 10th standard and the third daughter has
completed 8th standard.
Very recently he got a 2-wheeler, but otherwise he
used to travel in a bicycle crisscrossing the villages
and hamlets. Dutia is grateful to God for calling
him for full time service. In spite of various
difficulties and problems, he still runs for God
expecting his eternal reward, one day.
