A Tireless Worker! Dr. E. L. Ephraim( 1958-2017)
reach the students. His penetrating sermons encouraged many who attended evangelistic, discipleship camps organized by the SFJ. He conducted ' Bible Quiz ' competitions in a novel way in various places. When the SFJ introduced the students magazine in Tamil, ' Manava Malar ', he tirelessly worked to promote the magazine. In order to involve teachers in the students ministry, he organized and served as resource person for ' Teachers Conferences ' in various cities in Tamil Nadu.
E. L. Ephraim was born in the year 1958 to late Mr. Leo Edward and Mrs. Jane in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. As a young boy, he was associated with the Blessing Youth Mission which was then in its formulative stage. For over 45 years, his contribution towards the Mission was enormous. True to the meaning of his name, he was very fruitful to the very end of his life.
An Eminent Educationalist
He had a heart for education. He pursued his college studiesin Sri Pushpam College, Poondi and post graduated in M. Com. Passion for literary works, kindled him to pursue M. A. in Journalism. He also completed his M. Phil. and M. Ed. degrees. He taught in eight Higher Secondary Schools in Trichy and Thanjavur districts for 36 years. He also served as the Head Master in 6 schools for 17 years. He laboured as the ' Education Secretary ' in the CSI Trichy-Tanjore Diocese overseeing 18 institutions. He served to uplift the needy children and was a source of encouragement to many.

An Ardent Literarian
Ephraim had a passion to write. He was a vivacious writer. He was a contributor to the Blessing magazine. He also helped in editing and translating the articles of the magazine. He had a desire to raise new writers and encouraged many budding writers. He organized ' Writers ' Workshop ' in Chennai( 2010) and Trichy( 2013). He systematically followed the participants of these workshops and encouraged them to write for the glory of God. He was committed to publish the biographies of the retired missionaries of Blessing Youth Mission. He delegated this work to many young writers. He edited and compiled many books in Tamil and English- PalaniMezhuguvarthi, Marupiravi, Vethasurangam, Jebapasarai, MannilVanthaManickam, KaividathaNesar, MullumMalarum, EndiyaSabaiVaralaru( Indian Church History), VagaisudumValibar( Youth Unbeaten) and AsirvathamanaMazhai( Showers of Blessing).
Not only did he write, but also helped the founder of BYM, R. Stanley to translate his English sermons into Tamil. There are more than 150 audio and video CDs available today.
He also served as the General Secretary of the Blessing Ministries Trust and gave a new thrust for the literature ministry of Blessing Youth Mission.
