Note the following verse:
“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the
great love with which he loved us, even when we
were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together
with Christby grace you have been saved and raised
us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly
places in Christ Jesus” (Eph 2:4-6).
We need not fear anymore. We need not be
anxious anymore. We are God's children. We are now
under His care. Nothing should take away our joy and
peace that is in Christ. If God is our father, then what
can cause us to fear? If God is our protector, then who
can harm us? If God is the guarantor of our future,
then why should we worry? Who shall bring any
charge against God's elect? 'If God is for us, who can
be against us?'(Rom 8: 31, 33).
with failures of all kinds, but always turn to God. Let
us keep coming back to Him! Let us not feel guilty.
Godly sorrow will take us to His bosom. As children
we are to learn and grow. This is what God expects
from us. Learn, learn and learn. Let us learn from our
failures and from others'. Let us learn from
biographies of great men and women of God. Let us
open our eyes and start learning. God is our teacher.
He will lead us in various difficult paths in order to
teach us. Every time we face a challenging situation,
let us pray, “Lord, thank You for this situation. Help
me to be patient and learn what you are teaching
me.”
As children of God, we can enjoy all the
spiritual blessings that Jesus enjoyed. The Bible also
says that we are co-heirs with Christ.
Rom 8:17 “… and if children, then heirsheirs
of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we
suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified
with him.”
We are partakers of all the spiritual blessings
that Jesus enjoyed during His earthly sojourn. Jesus
enjoyed a close communion with the Father and so
can we. Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit and so
can we. He was healing and blessing people and so
can we. He endured suffering with courage and so
can we. Jesus led a victorious life and so can we.
He who has called us is faithful and will lead us
till the end. He will not leave us en route. Though at
times we might be unfaithful, yet He remains faithful
(2 Tim 2:13). Though we might fall at times, He will
strengthen us (Ps 145:14). Though we might stumble
at times, He will guard our steps (Ps 73:2). As a father
He will protect us, guide us and provide for us (Ps
68:5).
Psa 103:13 “As a father shows compassion to
his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those
who fear him.”
As children, we might fall and commit many
mistakes in life. But we should never forget that God
will have compassion on us when we turn back to
Him. Let us never lose heart when we are buffeted
Oh! What a joy to be a child of God!
2. I am Jesus' Disciples
Lk 14:25 - 27 -
“Now great crowds
accompanied him, and he turned and said to them,
“If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own
father and mother and wife and children and brothers
and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be
my disciple. Whoever does not bear his own cross
and come after me cannot be my disciple.”
When we are saved, we become the children of
God. But we should not forget that we need to follow
Jesus. As His disciples, our commitment is for Christ.
Following Christ mean s saying “No” to the world
and its passions.
