APRIL 2017 ZEAL, DIVE, SOAK EsmeRobina R. are not of this world then we would do all things as if doing for God. Romans 12: 11 says, “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervour, serving the Lord.” Zeal should portray itself in what you do David was a king, you know and yet in spite of his hectic schedule, he was always passionate about God. A king should behave as a king only, but look at David, He did not think about anyone watching him and went all the way dancing in joy for God. And he had time to write Psalms. I mean I can't even find time to do all my studies, how can that be possible for a king. Mind blowing! Not you, me. Hey, hey, hey…don't you dare sneak out. This page is for you. Apparently, the title is bizarre. I know, I know… Well, simply put, it means-When you have the zeal or passion for God, you'll wanna dive into His realm and soak in it till the end. Does it make sense? Alright. You have a quizzical brow, I see. Let's try to gaze at it in another angle. Passion for God comes only when you love Him like crazy. It shouldn't subside; then the zeal level will diminish too. Let me give you an example; your aim is to be a singer, then won't you always think about how to sing and practice singing every day? Yep, in that same way when you love God, you will always wanna think about Him; the zeal for Him will go to a level indescribable. And then you would want to dive into God's love and would wish to be with Him forever, yeah? Having zeal for God is most important. If we don't have it, then we will just be floating and we wouldn't wanna dive and behold the enchanting gems waiting for us. Sometimes we miss the treasures due to our silly and idiotic mistakes. When we believe and know that we I guess sometimes we just are too busy and moaning about all the miseries in life that we forget to think about God even once. We trash the whole place and get consumed in our anger and we ignore God completely. We never think about how blessed we are, at least not until we see someone suffering more than us. Sometimes even that does not move us. Well, David too had miseries, I mean, come on, Saul was trying to kill him. Was he consumed by all his grief? Nope. He just moved on knowing that God was in control. Nor did He try to take revenge, even when his friends suggested it. I guess, in a similar situation our mind will be like 'Let me get hold of him once and I'll show him what I'm made of, ha, ha, ha'. David being a king, showed that he had zeal for God. He wanted to build a temple for God. In everything he did, the zeal always displayed itself. David cries to God in Psalms 69:9-11 “for zeal for your house consumes me, and the insults of those who insult you fall on me. When I weep and fast, I must endure scorn; when I put on sackcloth, people make sport of me.” But still David was never low on zeal for YOUTH PAGE |PAGE 7|
