Link Fostering Agency
Link Fostering Agency was set up to provide an independent, innovative and child centred fostering service for
children and young who are in the care of local authorities. Our fundamental belief is that every child and young
person has right to experience living within a supportive family where they are valued and respected.
Link has eighty approved and committed foster carers who come from all walks of life and who live across
London and the Home Counties. Our carers offer a range of placements that promote a high level of care,
encouragement, safety and security for children and young people who are unable to live within their own
families. In particular, our carers are experienced in offering placements to children who are unaccompanied
asylum seekers or rescued from trafficking.
Many of our carers are from Black and ethnic minority communities, as are many of our children. We always aim
to match children to carers from their own background where we can, including ethnicity, language and religion.
We always want children placed with our foster carers to make the best out of life. With some children,
particularly those who have suffered greatly before being placed with us, this can be a challenge. However, our
view is that all children deserve the best chance in life and we always support their achieving – whether that be
in learning, sports, the arts, business or community activities.
But don’t take our word for it – our last Ofsted inspection found that when it comes to helping children to
achieve, we were “outstanding” – but we’re not being complacent and we are always looking at new ways to
help children achieve and to celebrate their successes: contributing to this award is one of them.
