NEWBURY COLLEGE AMONG TOP PERFORMERS NATIONALLY
Newbury College is celebrating a major rise in student achievement, with new national data showing the College has exceeded national averages and is now one of the most improved General Further Education colleges in the South East. This improvement helps strengthen the local talent pipeline for employers.
Over three years, overall achievement has risen from 76.3 % in 2022 / 23 to 84.7 % in 2024 / 25. This 8.4 percentage point increase represents an 11 % relative uplift and places Newbury College ahead of national benchmarks across key areas.

Newbury College is the most improved GFE College across the South East region.
The College is now ranked among the top performing further education colleges nationally and regionally for student success, reflecting the growing consistency and quality of outcomes for learners.
The improvement spans young people, adults, apprentices and higher level learners. Achievement at Level 3 is 3.9 percentage points above the national
01635 845229 average, while Level 4 and above, delivered through University Centre Newbury, is 3.0 percentage points above the national benchmark.

Newbury College significantly exceeds national averages for accredited qualifications.
Newbury College has also reported strong outcomes for learners with additional needs. High Needs Learners achieved 85.2 %, which is 7.9 percentage points above the national average. Apprentices aged 19 to 23 achieved 15 percentage points above the national average, while adult apprentices exceeded the national average by 11.2 percentage points.
Newbury College now has the third highest pass rates of all GFE Colleges in the country.
These results mean more learners are completing their programmes successfully and progressing into employment or further study with the skills, behaviours and knowledge local businesses need.
The results reflect the College’ s focus on clear progression routes, employer linked curriculum planning and its Careers not Courses approach, ensuring learning is aligned to real job opportunities.
