FRESHERS
WEEK
MUST-HAVE
MAX STRENGTH
COLD AND FLU
TABLETS
£1.50 - £3.50 from any supermarket
With the exploits of fresher week still
taking its toll, and an outbreak of fresher’s
flu settling in, its important to stay on top
of your health. Try and eat well, drink
plenty of water and get enough sleep. If
that, however, just isn’t doing the job then
it’s time to grab some tablets. Instead of
going for standard aspirin fork out for
some specific cold and flu tablets as they
often contain a little bit of caffeine to keep
you going. Get them as a pill if you need
a quick fix, or if you have time to indulge
and feel sorry for yourself a classic lemonflavoured lemsip drink will comfort your
germ ridden body.
THE
EXAM
LIFESAVER
ONESIE
From £16, Primark
In the last few years this epitome of comfy
casual wear has become a phenomenon; with
everyone from Brad Pitt to Borris Johnson
owning one. A must have outfit for the festival
circuit the onesie is an inescapable accessory
of student life. This fashion statement is now
no longer restricted to bedtime, however, as
people are putting on their over-sized baby
grows for a night out on the town. Some clubs
are even encouraging the new attire with
onesie themed nights (I’m looking at Pulse and
its ‘Onesie Wednesdays’). Even better is that
they double up as lecture ware, I mean who
needs the complicated task if doing up buttons
first thing in the morning? Wearing a onesie to
University does have its down side though, as
the part duvet, part outfit can encourage midlecture dosing.

WALL CALENDAR
pic: STUDIO HENKI
£3.99 - £12.99, from any stationary shop
Some form of diary or notebook is essential for jotting down all those
pesky deadline and exam dates, but even then these important dates can
get lost in a sea of lecture scribbles and coffee stains. To have all the
information you need in front of you it’s best to invest in a full year wall
planner. Have every day of the whole academic year staring you in the face
morning, noon and night and you’ll be guaranteed not to forget about that
3000-word assignment. Whatever you decide to spend on a wall calendar
it’s certainly going to save you money on energy drinks, as well as save
your sanity from last minute deadline stress.
