However there has always been a link between these, dating back to the lavish anatomy theatres of 16th-century Italy, or think of the infamous Gunther von Hagens, whose art exhibition of preserved human bodies have caused controversy around the world. This is exactly what the Anatomy Season is all about, exploring anatomy through a series of exhibitions, performances and workshops. The Wales Millennium Centre’s Anatomy Season will see artists, performers, anatomists, medics and thinkers giving a comprehensive view of the human form and all its beauty, intricacy, strength and fragility. This unique exploration of what goes on under our skin is designed to challenge the audience and stimulate questions. How much do we really know about what is going on inside us, and how much do we really want to find out? A distinctive and inspiring experience for the brave and the curious.
