To try and get you in the festive spirit with a night of Christmassy magic, hundreds of lanterns will be parading through and town and will welcome Santa just in time for Christmas. You can witness the procession of Christmas glow from the very start at Caerphilly Railway Station, and follow the beautiful lantern parade through Caerphilly town. The river of light will end with a dazzling fireworks display over Caerphilly Castle. In preparation for this annual tradition Caerphilly County Borough Council will be holding River of Light workshops for people to come and make their own lanterns, at Caerphilly Leisure Centre between Sun 1 and Sat 21 Dec. The different Christmassy activity offers a fun and crafty way to get involved, and is a good excuse for the council to get you to do all the creative work.
