1.) A Vision Creator:

To be a successful marketing manager you must be a vision creator. With all of the products and services your company sells you must find the special features and benefits they have a find a way to communicate it to your consumers.

2.) A Strong Ego:

When a group or committee makes the decision there is always comprise which makes the products not stand out in the market place. There needs to be a strong visionary who makes the decisions, this way the product does not fail due to compromise. This is not to say that the marketing manager has the only say, this person should take in any input for their team and implement them if it is in best interest of the idea.

8.) A Master of Internal Company Politics:

Due to company policy becoming conflicted it causes tensions between many of the departments of a firm. You must know each role and establish it among your associates; this will lessen the tension and help each department know what their role is in the company.

9.) In Control of the Budget:

You need to have a loose budget as a marketing manager. Some projects take more time than anticipated and there needs to be some flexibility that can be worked with.

10.) A Love of the Process:

A marketing manager must love the whole process; delegating tasks, working on projects and getting their hand dirty. You must understand that not all of your marketing plans will turn out, and this must not get you down. You need to shrug it off and try again; learning from your failures will make you a better wiser marketing manager.
