1.) You must understand the market and the consumers within the market,. 2.) Observe people in real life situations and find out how they use their everyday products. What do they dislike? What could use improving? 3.) Visualize how the future product should be changed. 4.) Evaluate and refine your future products. In this stage you will improve upon your idea; no idea is perfect it always could use an improvement. 5.) Now the final stage is to implement your new product or concept. pg6-7

1.) Innovation at the Top:

Innovation has risen from the bottom to the top of the list in most companies. These companies are now thirsty for knowledge and growth more than ever before. IDEO is a company that stood on the front lines of innovation. They helped many companies rise due to innovation, even including fortune 500 companies. pg3-4

4.) Finding the Rule Breakers:

By finding the right people to observe it helps. Take for example the “lazy” person, now this person will do whatever it takes to use the product with the least amount of effort. By watching these people we can find the easiest way to use our products and make modifications.

3.) A Childs Eye:

By studying people of all ages, shapes, cultures and sizes we have learned that the best products embrace peoples differences. Kids take a products and use it in all different purposes, in some cases they don't even use it for what it's intended to be. This is great for us observers we can now see where modifications can be or new product ideas. pg33
