Toni stands
out from the
crowd!
In a world where “tech geeks” are
largely male, Toni Fleck, 26, stands
out in a competitve role.
The Client Services Director for retail market,
price tracking specialist, Competitor Monitor,
is a self-confessed geek. She has risen
through the ranks from social sciences and a
hospitality background to become a driving
force behind the company’s growth.
Competitor Monitor provides customer and
competitor intelligence systems for leading
retail brands.
Its SaaS application (competitormonitor.com)
benchmarks and analyses online businesses,
tracking markets round the clock to spot
opportunities for price improvements, web
promotions and new product launches.
Toni has overcome an initial lack of confidence
to become a pricing whizz when it comes to
the comparison of consumer goods, from
cosmetics to BBQs.She said: “I had my initial
doubts whether I could survive in this new-
found industry. At first, I wondered whether
I would be hampered by a lack of skills and
experience. I thought maybe I wouldn’t be
smart enough to stay afloat.
Toni has a degree in psychology with
criminology but when it came to the end of
her studies she didn’t know what to do.
She continues: “At the time I was working
for Krispy Krème doughnuts. I wasn’t certain
I wanted to pursue a career in criminology.
Racking my brains, I started to explore the
idea of things I enjoy.”
