In Burnsville, residents elect a Mayor and four City Council Members – all at-large, and all with equal voting authority. The City Council is committed to making Burnsville a vibrant city, boldly leading, welcoming to all, and everyone is invited to participate in the local government process – whether you want to watch a Council meeting, contact an elected official or serve on an Advisory Commission.
All of Burnsville’ s City Council and commission meetings are cablecast live and replayed on Burnsville Civic Channel 16 and HD Channel 859( for cable subscribers). Meetings can also be viewed live and on demand at burnsvillemn. gov / meetings.

Department, Burnsville takes great pride in its commitment to public safety. The Economic Development department is dedicated to helping businesses thrive. Public Works teams can regularly be seen fixing potholes, plowing streets and ensuring that all infrastructure and parks are properly maintained. New and innovative programming is planned each year by a variety of staff including those in the Recreation and Community Engagement departments. Community support continues with the work of Communications, Finance, Information & Technology, Human Resources and the City Clerk’ s Office.
