The pesticide risk condition in the Burdekin Region in 2020 indicates 97.7 per cent of aquatic species were protected from the harmful effects of pesticides .
This is similar to the 2019 condition . The 2025 pesticide target is to protect at least 99 per cent of aquatic species at end-ofcatchments .
While this result represents the overall risk for all catchments in the Burdekin region , the Burdekin , Black and Don catchments experienced a lower risk , while the Haughton catchment experienced a higher risk .
