Inspiring child author releases first book
Chelsea Boulding, Year 6 student of St Francis of Assisi Primary School, Calwell, released her first book during ‘Book Week’ on 21 August at the school. Chelsea Boulding was born with Cerebral Palsy and is confined to a wheelchair. She is so interested in learning and has a fantastic imagination. With the help of teachers, teacher assistants and volunteers, Chelsea has written her first story “A Hippopotamus in the Sink”, published by Harbour Publishing House. Chelsea dreamt of becoming an author and publishing her stories for other children to read. She thought, “If the Kinders at St Francis liked them so much why wouldn’t other children?” But it was just a dream. Working together with staff and parent helpers she wrote this story and now this dream has become a reality.
