A Tailored Approach for Success
CIRO ’ s apprenticeship team has once again crafted a bespoke programme to meet Network Rail ’ s specific requirements , building on the success of previous years . This year ’ s cohort will benefit from specialised course materials , with a focus on project management , and case studies designed to give learners a deep understanding of rail operations . Highcalibre speakers from across the industry will also share their expertise , ensuring apprentices are exposed to practical and relevant knowledge that aligns with Network Rail ’ s evolving operational needs . As in previous years , the Level 4 Apprenticeship is designed to be both experiential and engaging . Learners will interact with senior leaders from Network Rail and other key figures within the rail industry , gaining valuable insights into leadership and operational best practices . This combination of classroom learning , hands-on experience , and mentorship ensures the programme is dynamic and maximises learner engagement .
Supporting a Seamless Learning Journey
To ensure a smooth transition into the programme , CIRO held pre-sessions for apprentice line managers prior to the start date . These sessions provided essential insights into the apprenticeship journey , outlining expectations and offering guidance on how to make the most of the learning experience . By ensuring line managers were wellprepared and engaged form the outset , CIRO helped set the stage for a positive and impactful learning experience for both the apprentices and Network Rail as a whole .
With this latest intake , the total number of Network Rail employees who have benefited from CIRO ’ s apprenticeship programme is approaching 200 , highlighting CIRO ’ s role as a key partner in developing the next generation of rail leaders .
Looking Ahead
This cohort is set to complete their apprenticeship in just over a year ’ s time , at which point they will join the growing ranks of CIRO-qualified professionals making their mark in the rail industry . As CIRO continues its partnership with Network Rail , we look forward to seeing this new generation of apprentices lead with confidence and help shape the future of railway operations .
