Dulux consolidates professional paints
portfolio to offer better support
Architects, interior designers, wall owners and contractors can now look to Dulux for
a one-stop solution to all their coatings needs.

ONE GOOD REASON, among several others, why AkzoNobel is
a leading global paints and coatings company and major producer
of specialty chemicals is its unwavering commitment to reach
out and give more than just quality products to consumers/trade
professionals. Quite the latest offering is its Dulux Professional, a
‘one-stop contact-point-cum-centre that provides (1) a range of
innovative and sustainable products, (2) technical services and
support, encompassing customisable solutions, specifications
consultation across sectors and a more comprehensible product
categorisation of Dulux Professional paints, that was introduced
recently on 2 June 2016.
Dulux Professional Product Categorisation
• Dulux Professional Weathershield series, certified ‘sustainable’
by Green Label (Singapore) and SIRIM Eco-label paint for
its sustainability (reduced envionmental impact due to lesser
maintenance), proven protection from external elements,
ensuring that building exteriors look and stay good over time.
It is about (i) elastomeric technology (paint film that
stretches by three times more than ordinary exterior paint), (ii)
Keel CoolTM technology (use of special pigments to deflect
heat) and (iii) ColourlockTM technology (prevent colour-fading
due to ultra-violet rays).
It is also about durability and extended maintenance cycles
from which savings accrue. Product lines in this series: Dulux
Professional Weathershield E1000, Flexx, Express, Roof, Creation
Acryltex, Sealer E1000 and Solvent-based Sealer E1000.
• Dulux Professional Diamond range, for smooth finishing and
outstanding functionality, specially formulated with technologies,
namely, of (a) StainResist Film (to build tough, hard-wearing
finish with water-repellent and stain-removal properties), (b)
LumitechTM (to reflect more and absorb less light for brighter

Technical and Support Services
Products aside, the Dulux Professional package comes with:
• site surveys by AkzoNobel’s dedicated Project Sales and
Specification personnel, for inspection to assess the current
condition of surface coatings, assist in identifying difficult
substrates and advise on extending maintenance cycles;
• writing out specifications tailored to individual requirements, to
ensure correct surface preparation and specify the product most
appropriate for the location, environment and substrate type;
• consultation on (1) colour scheme recommendation and
visualisation with Colour Previews, and (2) health, safety and
environmental issues relevant to product use;
• site management, including work supervision and verification of
surface preparation;
• contract partnership with quality Contract Partners to ensure
delivery of quality finish and on-time completion projects, as well
as use of materials as specified. ■
